Joan Marie Barringer, M.Ed., is a professional counselor who has had Essential Tremor since childhood. She started the first Essential Tremor support group in Washington, DC at Georgetown University Hospital. Joan Marie is an accomplished motivational speaker who enthusiastically educates groups through a holistic approach, encouraging individual participation and personal growth.

She currently leads an Essential Tremor Support Group at the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County in Vero Beach, FL.  She also serves as the Southeast Regional Director on the board of HopeNET, an organization dedicated to researching and finding a cure for ET.

Joan Marie holds a Master’s in Agency Counseling from George Mason University and is a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
